Sierra Leone group condemns “terror campaign” against Libya E-mail

The Sierra Leone People’s Democratic League (PDL), on Monday condemned vehemently the “terror campaign” against Libyan leader, Muammar Qathafi, members of his family and the entire people of Libya.

A statement received in Accra on Monday called on the United States and its allies to stop their crusade attacks against Libya.

“We endorse and adopt the African Union’s (AU) position, which represents the wish of all African people and people of African descents,” it said.

“The position of the AU strengthens the African values, which rejects any attempt by any group to change Government on the continent and beyond through violent means. It also strengthens African roadmap solutions to African problems.”

PDL appealed to the international community to call for an immediate and unconditional halt to the NATO campaign against Libya, and also to recognize the honour, dignity and the free will of the Libyan people to decide on the political, economic and security of their country without outside interference.

“NATO’s indiscriminate, criminal and crusade attacks on Libya are unacceptable and run at variance with the imposed United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973. These terror attacks are harmful to civilian life and also violate the sovereignty, national independence and territorial integrity of Libya,” it said.
