| LONDON IS ABORTION CAPITAL OF EUROPE – ALAN CRAIG |
|
|
Craig believes that due to the timing of the new opening of an Abortion centre in Stratford, the local authority are using this clinic as an opportunity to maximise on profit before the 2012 Olympics in Stratford next year. “Our aim is to close down this clinic. They are advertising for abortionists to take the terminations and it will be wonderful if we get the place closed down. One of the key things is that they have opened the clinics in a resident block of flats”. The leader of the Christian Alliance Party made these remarks in the studios of Voice of Africa Radio when he joined the news review segment on Wednesday. Mr Craig says residents his group spoke to were appalled and knew nothing about it. He added clinic waste from the centre was going to be right outside the front door. “How would you feel if the place you lived in was terminating babies? It’s horrendous. The place is in Stratford. An abortion clinic? ”Craig asked. As a campaigner against terminations of pregnancies, Craig wrote a letter in the Newham Recorder that was published this week condemning the newly opened abortion clinic in the centre of Stratford. Both Christians and Muslims have joined Craig in his protest to stop this “holocaust” in the “slaughter of babies”.He told the panel. Craig went on to comment that there is a need for the cut-off point for abortions to be reduced from 24 weeks to below 16 weeks and agrees with MP Nadine Thomas’s idea that independent advice should be given to women who are in the crisis situation of unwanted pregnancy. “A member of parliament called Nadine Thomas has said there should be independent advice given to women who are in a crisis situation of unwanted pregnancy. BPAS are giving the abortions and the advice. Any other industry would not do so because the investment of interest is already there.” He argued. According to Craig, Nadine holds the reasonable argument that we should separate abortion provision from abortion advice and counselling. Women, he agrees should make their own choice, quietly, in their own space and thinks if that were to happen the number of abortions would come down. “Why shouldn’t women make informed choice than simply go to the abortion provider who will counsel them?” He argued.
