This was contained in a statement signed by Mrs Irene Duncan-Adanusa, General Secretary of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) for distribution to regional and district Secretaries, national officers and headquarters staff of GNAT . The statement said, “The Committee agreed that the accumulated salary arrears for 2010 and 2011 should be paid by the end of July 2012”. The agreed payment trenches are as follows: October 2011 - two months’ salary arrears, December 2011 - three months' salary arrears, February 2012 - three months' salary arrears and March 2012 - two months' salary arrears. The rest are April 2012 - three months' salary arrears, May 2012 - three months' salary arrears, June 2012 - two months' salary arrears, July 2011 - two months’ salary arrears. “Kindly bring the contest of this letter to the attention of the entire membership and executive officers in your region. Copies of the signed agreement between Organised Labour and Government will be distributed later to all Regions,” the statement added.

Ghana's Public Service Joint Negotiation Committee (PSJNC) on Friday concluded negotiations on the payment of salary arrears accruing from the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) implementation in the Public Service.
