Where am I? News GHANA’S DEMOCRACY WILL FAIL- REV NII MARTEY
GHANA’S DEMOCRACY WILL FAIL- REV NII MARTEY E-mail

Ghana FlagA Ghanaian Political Activist and Religious Consultant, Reverend Nii Martey has prophesied doom for Ghana’s democracy.

“Democracy in Ghana and other African countries will not work because there are certain pillars we need to put in place, If Africa does not have these pillars in place then democracy is not going to work” he said.

Rev. Martey indicated that democratic nations speak with one voice but Ghana like all other African nations does not speak with one voice.

“Ghana for example does not have a national database to track down people who cause trouble in the country, how can there be a true democracy” he asked.

The renowned Political Activist was speaking in the studios of Voice of Africa Radio, where he was being hosted on its People’s Parliament yesterday.

“I have been trying to echo to our African leaders and our individual African nations, that if we have a national policy that is above party influences that is what hold the people together, that is democracy” he maintained.

The reverend Nii Martey said Africans do not understand how democracy works and for that matter lack the ability to define who they are, and where they are going.

He called on the Ghana government to have a national policy that will ensure that developmental agenda of previous governments are implemented and not left on the drawing board.

“If a country has a national policy everybody will speak the same thing. It is very vital, it is very important and I think we need to learn from the United Kingdom” he said.

He said Ghana was moving at too slow a pace, nothing has changed in terms of socio-economic development and well-being which showed no difference between the current government and the previous NPP government.

“There is too much laxity in the system, too much talking and sitting down without any action, if this is going to continue then Ghana has a long way to go” he added.

He said President Atta-Mills’ government is doing what they can but for someone who lives abroad, nothing has been achieved.

Hotep (Divine Peace)

Here we go again speaking about demon-Crosses. It is said to seethe descendants of a people who were civilized long before these europeans came out of the caves looking to them to liberate you. We have our own customs and practices. Why is it you cannot parlay together and come up with something of your own, yet you are willing to impose foreign doctrines onto your people. Be a leader and lead your people to their own salvation hotep.

Of course it can work in Ghana. The people are not stupid they are very clever. It is tribalism that will cause problems. That and leader who are not honest and try to stir up racism.
The people of Ghana are extremely nice and deserve the very best government - not some tribal idiot who looks after his own family and people and forget everyone else.
