| I Would Have Shot Dr. Kwame Nkrumah – NPP Chairman |

“If you trample my rights, you tell me that I can’t vote, you tell me that I can’t change you, then I would shoot you,I would have shot Dr.Nkrumah," he confessed. Atta-Krufi made these remarks on Voice of Africa Radio’s People’s Parliament, when he was asked to comment on the safety of Ghana’s Flagstaff House as a presidential residence. He accused Dovlo-Lartey and the NDC as being coup makers asked if the security of the president was not paramount given Ghana’s history of coup d’états, but declined to comment on the UP tradition’s role in the five assassination attempts on President Nkrumah and said he would have killed him. Ghana’s Security Chief, Dovlo-Lartey had said the presidential mansion as it stood ‘was naked and vulnerable’ which needed to be secured for any president to live in. Atta-Krufi argued “if the place is not security safe for presidents to live in and President Mills has been in government for over 2 years then the house ought to have been secured by now,” he said. He stated the house has been in the care of Dovlo-Lartey for over 2 years to ensure that it was secured, “if he has not done this for two and half years then he has failed as a security chief and ought to be dismissed,” he claimed. Atta-Krufi urged the security coordinator to “hang his head in shame for putting our president or head of state’s life in jeopardy,” he added. He wondered where Dovlo-Lartey got his security expertise from “if he is a security expert, then I’m also a security expert because Dovlo was my mate in the army and we went through the same training school,” he said. In an apparent contradiction, he decried the fact that the security of the president’s residence has become an issue “who in Ghana will take a weapon and look for President Mills to shoot, why do we tend to create things which do not exist, since when have where presidents live become a security enclave like a prison,” he asked. The New Patriot Party are pathetically immature, they haven't got nothing to offer neither.
It was just like their then United Party who brought Ghana on her knees when they were the ones who definetely were involved in the ousting of Nkrumah.
I am not bothered with the foolish talk by those who have their brains out of place and it is pity that the New Patriot Party instead of trying to uplift Ghanaians, their too busy trying to be immature by smearing our first ever President of Ghana, who by the way did so much for our country.
